On the first day of school, Ms Elder gave us a puzzle piece and asked us to draw things on it that represent ourselves. When we were finished, we stood up in front of the class and presented our work. We told the class about ourselves. Today, we put the puzzle pieces together. They formed a circle. We then put it on the wall of the classroom.
We did this activity to learn more about each other, and to show how everyone's diverse and unique. This shows that we're all in a community. If you were to take one piece out, we wouldn't be whole. It represents that we all need to work together as a team. This is a skill we are working on as a class.
Ms Elder also told us that we were starting the year by working on puzzles and mysteries. This builds our critical thinking skills (and makes our brains stronger!). :)
