Information: Outdoor School for Grade 5's

Reminder: There is a mandatory parent meeting for Grade 5 parents regarding Outdoor School
Please see the message below sent home on January 15.

Dear Gr. 5/6 Parents and Guardians,

We are pleased to inform you that we are starting to prepare for our Grade 5 and 6 learning experience at Kamp Kiwanis. Students in Grade 5 and 6 will attend Kamp Kiwanis for the purpose of enhancing their learning around outdoor education and other curricular outcomes in Science. Outdoor School is also an opportunity for students to learn with, and from each other, as they complete leadership and team building activities.

Ramsay students are scheduled to attend Kamp Kiwanis on March 31st – April 2nd (Tuesday – Thursday). Students will travel by bus and stay overnight in heated cabins. Teacher and Kamp Kiwanis staff supervision will be present for the duration of the trip. Kamp Kiwanis is located at the intersection of Highway 8 & 22, which is 23 Km west of Calgary.

Because this off-site learning is an overnight experience for students, a mandatory parent/guardian meeting is required. We would like to invite you to this meeting, led by the Kamp Kiwanis director, on February 25th, 2020 at 5:30 p.m. inside our Learning Commons. The meeting will be 60 minutes and cover important information about the experience, as well as serve as an opportunity to answer your questions.

Due to our generous and supportive School Council & Parent Association, there is no cost for the Outdoor School experience for Ramsay students.

Thank you in advance for saving the date for this meeting. We look forward to it!

Sincerely,
Jill Scarrow
